    Speaker Bio

Dr. Megan Anna Neff is a passionate advocate and educator in the neurodiversity space, driven by her concerns about the 'lost generation'—individuals who have historically been overlooked in discussions of neurodivergence.

Her dedication to this cause led her to establish Neurodivergent Insights, a platform aimed at providing crucial resources and awareness. Drawing from her professional expertise and lived experience in the topic, Dr. Neff created an on-demand training course to help clinicians better understand the Lost Generation of Autistic adults.

    What You’ll Learn

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

🔹 Recognize the concept of the "lost generation" of Autistic adults and describe how masking and socio-cultural factors have contributed to underdiagnosis.

🔹 Identify common co-occurring conditions (such as ADHD, OCD, PTSD, eating disorders) and understand how autism may be overshadowed in complex cases.

🔹 Apply the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria with more nuance, particularly for adults with non-stereotypical presentations.

🔹 Incorporate effective autism screening tools into clinical intake processes and feel more confident recognizing autism as part of a treatment course.

🔹 Understand the high stakes of misdiagnosis—including increased suicide risk, substance use, and treatment-resistant depression—and the protective power of identity integration and community.

    What’s Included

    Included in this training:

🔹 3 hours of on-demand video content, broken into six accessible modules

🔹 Downloadable diagnostic charts, and screening info guides

🔹 Neurodivergent Insights downloadable Autism Diagnostic Criteria PDF designed for use with clients or as a clinician reference

🔹Printable slide deck for each module to support note-taking and review

🔹 Reflective case study: *Penny’s Story*, used throughout to illustrate criteria and complexity

    🔹 Certificate of completion

🔹 Lifetime access to the course and all materials

⚠️ Please note: This training does not currently offer CE credit. However, a certificate of completion is provided and may be eligible for self-reported learning hours, depending on your licensing board’s requirements. We recommend checking with your board to determine eligibility.

    Who This Is Training For

    This course is ideal for:

🔹Psychologists, therapists, and social workers in private practice or agency settings
🔹Clinicians working with adults navigating complex clinical presentations
    🔹Professionals seeking a more neurodiversity-affirming, identity-centered approach to care
🔹 Anyone who has ever wondered if they may be missing the full picture in therapy

While this is a clinical training designed for providers, late-identified or self-questioning neurodivergent adults have also found this training meaningful.

    Course Level

Beginner to Intermediate — Ideal for clinicians with a general background in mental health who are newer to adult autism identification or seeking to build more confidence in applying diagnostic criteria with nuance.
